AAGPS Sports Update – 7 MAY 2021

The AAGPS Chairman Mr Mark Ticehurst, and Executive Officer Mr Nigel Price, in consultation with the GPS Headmasters’ Standing Committee wish to provide the following update regarding GPS sporting programmes in 2021:

Due to updated NSW Government and Health advice on Thursday 6 May, attendance at all AAGPS winter sport fixtures on Saturday 8 May 2021 will be limited to two spectators per athlete. Spectators at indoor matches for Volleyball will also be required to wear a mask when attending these fixtures.

Please refer to individual schools for advice of upcoming fixtures and the relevant restrictions in place at host venues. Attendance at fixtures will adhere to the AAGPS COVID-19 Safety Plan, ensuring the minimising of gatherings before and after fixtures. Participants and spectators must leave venues at the completion of their individual matches and this applies to all scheduled junior and senior fixtures.

Spectators must ensure they continue to record their attendance upon entry at the electronic sign in provided, and are reminded that if they have visited any of the reported COVID-19 case locations listed on the NSW Government website they are not to attend fixtures.

The AAGPS acknowledges that advice and the current situation has, and will continue to change rapidly. As the situation evolves, the AAGPS will continue to monitor, and act accordingly throughout the remainder of 2021.
